New Acquisition in Stafford Basin with Regional Bond Measure funds

Document Actions
Regional voters approved a greenspace acquisition bond measure in November of 2006.  Metro Regional Government's greenspace department is purchasing key natural lands in the Portland metro region to keep our air clean, water clear and nature close to home.

An exciting new acquisition in a Three Rivers', Stafford Basin focus area occurred in late June.   25-acre acquisition along Pecan Creek and Stafford Road just north of the Tualatin River.

The property includes about 2,000 feet of frontage along both sides of Pecan Creek, as well as a small tributary creek, helping protect water quality in the
Tualatin River basin. The land is located south of Childs Road, just
outside of Lake Oswego.

The Three Rivers Land Conservancy and the City of Lake Oswego have been
working for more than a decade with private owners to purchase land and
encourage land donations that preserve connections between people and
nature in the Stafford Basin.  Metro's acquisition builds upon this
local legacy with a regional investment that offers significant water
quality benefits.
